ATROCITY: 'Contaminated' Samples Available

Reunited Torrington, Connecticut-based thrash/hardcore act ATROCITY (not to be confused with the German band) have posted 30 second samples of every track off of the upcoming "Contaminated" CD, which features alternative recordings from the original "Infected" sessions. These samples are currently being streamed at www.opengraverecords.com.

Formed in early 1985 by Rob Wedda (vocals),Rich Flint (bass),Scott Reynolds (guitar) and Jeff White (drums),ATROCITY had pushed out three demos ("Toxic Death", "Ravaged by Disease", "Mangled") and a self-financed seven-inch EP, entitled "Hatred Birth", by 1989. They soon caught the attention of U.K.-based Metalcore Records, a subsidiary of Plastichead Distribution, whom they ultimately signed with.

ATROCITY's first album, "Infected" (1990),is very raw and featured a very violent death metal/grind sound. The second album, "The Art of Death" (1992),saw a lineup change when Scott left the band and was replaced by Jesse Piechowski on guitar.

"Contaminated" is scheduled for release on January 30.
